4 Tips to Help With Marketing Expenses for Small Businesses

small-business-17For a small business, reducing costs in certain places can be crucial. However, the top three business expenses are employee wage, inventory, and rent, which are all hard categories to cut costs on. There are, however, other ways in which your small business can reduce expenses in other areas.

One way to save money is to reduce the costs associated with your marketing campaigns. Although you may not see the cost savings right away, they will add up once you’ve implemented a few of them. Here are 4 tips to help with marketing expenses for your small business.

1)    Drive Internet Traffic

Your company URL can be one of the most important tools in your marketing arsenal. Making sure everyone knows how to access your company via the web can be crucial to attracting and maintaining business. One of the easiest ways to ensure your URL is viewed is to include it on all of your company communications, including your letterhead, business cards, ads, billing materials, email signatures, company vehicles, and basically anything that is viewable by clients or the public.

2)    Develop Content

Another way to help with marketing expenses is to have freelancers develop more content for your website or company blog. Quality content can be obtained affordably and quickly from a number of talented online resources with years of experience behind them.

3)    Use Stock Photography

A major expense for any company can be the use of a photographer for expensive photo shoots. For help with marketing expenses when sending out newsletters or emails that require company photos, opt for stock photography. Many online stock photography retailers offer high-resolution images on any topic for very low prices.

4)    Partner with Other Businesses

One of the best ways to help with marketing expenses is to share them with another company nearby. Splitting advertising and promotion costs with neighbor businesses to create themed promotions that benefit both companies can be a great way to build relationships as well as draw clients to both establishments.

  2. great ideas – in line with suggestion #2, I’ve always kept a place where I keep a list of ideas for website articles (like in an email in my drafts folder). then if I think of an idea for an article on my website (like How to ____?) I can record it there without feeling like I need to write the article there and then (or risk losing the idea). I’ve found these to be great ways the build traffic for any website (over time)
